Risks of Feeding Puppies with Adult Dog Food

Any form of Adult Dog Food formula is strictly not suitable to be given to puppies, as they require greater amounts of protein, essential amino acids, essential fatty acids and minerals. Attempting to adjust adult dog food to suit puppy food, by increasing the quantity of adult dog food given, will balance only certain nutrients in the puppy's diet. However, the remaining nutrients required for puppies will not be balanced, therefore, this is strictly not a recommended method for feeding puppies.

Puppies of large and giant breeds require certain levels of calcium and phosphorus for their fast growth phase and can develop skeletal deformities if fed adult dog food or a food designed for smaller breeds. Our custom handmade meals for puppies are specifically formulated to be following the AAFCO dietary requirements for puppies at different growth stages, breeds and body weights.
